Frome won their fourth match in a row thanks to a superb bowling performance- skittling Staplegrove out for 89.`

Frome 2nd team beat Staplegrove by 8 wickets as they bowled Staplegrove out for just 89.

Skipper Cantrell won the toss for Frome and he chose to bowl first. Staplegrove, did, start the innings well as opener Cutler hit a number of boundaries through mid wicket in particular. The introduction of C R Dredge into the attack saw the first breakthrough though, he bowled Cutler with the scre on 56. He then got the other opener- Staplegrove skipper N Richards played a loose shot to gully. The rest of the Staplegrove order offered little resistance. Spinner S Edwards picked up 2 wickets for 29 runs in his 12 overs while Dredge collected a further wicket to give him figures of 12-6-14-3. The tail was then mopped up. M Watts got a wicket to his name and A Woodruff got 4 wickets for just 1 run in what were the best figures of his career (5.2-4-1-4).

In response Frome started steadily as openers Leonard and Gullock carried the score onto 27 before the latter was bowled for 12. M Dredge then added impetus to the innings, his 22 all in boundaries (4 fours and a six) saw the total move to 66 before he was caught. J Unwin finshed not out on 12 alongside Leonard (33) as Frome got an 8 wicket victory. Finshing on 90-2- Frome required only 21 overs.

Next week the second team host South Petherton.
