Lee Dredge smashed 88 off 69 balls, ably supported Messrs Cantrell (59) and Gullock (84), before Neil Dredge took 4-9 to skittle Ilton.

Frome skipper Craig Dredge won the toss for the hosts, and he elected to bat first.

And it wasn't soon after Josh Cantrell, fresh from his ton last week, and Ryan Gullock got going- it seemed like it was going to be a long afternoon for the visitors.

Cantrell was putting the ball away to the boundary with regularity, whilst Gullock was rotating the strike well.

Josh Cantrell was first to his fifty, but when on 59, he was caught behind square on the leg side off of Dan Brunt (1-39). His innings included 11 fours and came off 81 deliveries.

After the 117 opening stand was broken, Lee Dredge joined Gullock and they continued to add to the total- infact adding another 133 for the second wicket partnership.

Lee Dredge accelerated the run rate, and despite being dropped numerous times by Ilton, he made them pay by racking up the runs- much to the delight of the home support.

Ryan Gullock was going about his merry way too, and he began to find the boundary. He and Lee Dredge had passed their fifties and secured maximum batting points for the hosts by moving past 200.

With the score on 250, Gullock was finally dismissed. His 84 came from 99 balls, and contained 5 fours and a six.

Then, 21 runs later, Lee Dredge was out- bowled by Damian Price (2-72). Dredge hit 9 fours and 3 sixes.

The imperious batting display continued afterwards though as James Unwin and Neil Dredge smashed plenty off the final overs.

Unwin finished 26 not out off a mere 13 balls, whilst Neil Dredge blitzed his way to 30 from 8 balls with four sixes.

This rallied Frome up to 317-3 from their 45 overs, a memorable batting display for Frome 2nd XI.

When it came to bowling, Frome were relentless in earning a comfortable win.

Neil Dredge claimed 4-9 from his nine overs, whilst Mathew Bracher won a leg before appeal take 1-24. The opening Frome bowlers ripped through the top five.

Unwin took a fantastic catch in close from Dredge's bowling, whilst the bowler accounted for skipper Price to get the ball rolling.

Arthur Harman and Aaron Woodruff (0-13) continued the good work, and a great throw from Unwin saw Ilton reduced to 50-6.

After a catch was put down off Woodruff's bowling, it mattered not as Harman accounted for the wicket of Scott Welch when he cramped him for room to hit the wickets.

The experienced Mark Harman (2-1) and Craig Dredge (1-2) then wrapped up the innings. The former took a brace of wickets in his first over, one of which was well caught in the deep by Gullock.

Then, in the next over, Nick Hitchcott's resistance (14 from 54) was ended when Craig Dredge took a caught and bowled.

This resultantly secured the Showmen a 240 run victory, with maximum points (35) and ultimately maintaining their superb form. Ilton took six points away from the defeat.

Thanks goes to Dave Bracher and Kevin Harding who sponsored this match.

Next Saturday, Frome 2nd XI don't have a fixture due to Bishops Lydeard withdrawing from the league. In a fortnight's time, the 2nd XI play host to Kilve.
