U15's come out on top in tight encounter

Frome had to show some grit in this match to overcome a strong Midsomer Norton side at Fromefield.

After winning the toss and electing to bat first, A Woodruff and J Barrow took built an opening partnership of 56 before the latter was bowled for 23. J Smart was next in, and Frome took the score onto 90 before Woodruff was caught at mid-off in the sixteenth over for a well-built 43 (5 fours). Taylor A was next to fall, skying the ball into the off side for 5. Smart was then caught in the deep for 36 (4 fours and a six). M.J Watts then added a lusty low that went for four to finish unbeaten on 8 alongside M Kingsley (6). This meant that Frome concluded their 20 overs on 137-4.

In the field, Midsomer Norton started strongly openers Joe E and Harrison V took the score onto 72 off 11.2 overs before MJ Watts bowled the latter for 16. D Weston then got a big breakthrough. He had wicketkeeper batsmen Joe E stumped by Jack for 43. Alex (who, along with Hugo were making there Frome debuts) had Morgan S trapped in front for 16. Chris R hit some late runs (26) for Norton but superb death bowling from T Angel,E Cox and Alex allowed Frome to gain victory by 13 runs and to pick up their fifth victory of the season, to stay unbeaten and top of the league!
