League becomes ever closer for U15's

After winning the toss and batting first Frome made good progress early on as Joe S and Jack W took the score onto 86 before the latter departed fro 12 (26 balls, 1 four). Arthur H followed for 3 (8) before Tom W failed to score. Joe went about his innings well though and went to a well played fifty off 35 deliveries. He pressed on towards his ton, picking off the two's well and punishing the bad ball well for four. A life came when on 80 he was dropped at short cover when he hit it skyward. After this though, it always looked likely- a magnificent hundred came off of 60 deliveries and included 12 fours and a six. He then departed for exactly 100 (62). Jake B scored quickly in the latter stages, along with Taylor A before whom departed for 6. Miles K scored an unbeaten 3 and Jake was also not out on 27 (including 2 fours and a six) to take the Frome score onto 181-5 off their 20 overs.

In response Purnells struggled throughout. The wicket takers were: Tom W, 2-8; Arthur H, 2-11; Ethan C, 2-20; Aaron W, 1-11; Dan W, 1-14; Taylor A, 1-21. The bowling was well backed up by those in the field and Miles K who did very well, taking 2 catches and a stumping. Thus all resulted in Purnells being 90-9 off their 20 overs- falling 91 runs short of Frome's total.
