Frome U15's Unbeaten through 2014

In this match, Frome won the toss and chose to bat first. This is worked well for them this year as in every match played they have batted first and won!

Openers Jake B and Jack W (batting on his birthday!) saw the total onto 27 before the former was caught by long off for 16 (3 fours). Jack struggled to get the ball away at times but he saw off the opening bowlers well before being bowled by Henry for 5 in his last over. Henry finished with figures of 2-21. Leading run scorer Joe S then came in and dominated the bowling, along with Isaac W, they saw the score from 32 to 175. This 142 run partnership took the game away from the visitors. Joe reached his magnificent hundred for the second time this season. This innings included 10 fours and 4 sixes. He was bowled by a jubilant Harry C for 100, the bowler getting revenge for dropping him early on. Aaron W came in for the latter stages and finished not out on 5 and Isaac got to his 50 off the last ball with a single off a dropped catch. This innings included 7 fours. All of this just seemed to make it feel Frome's day as they concluded their 20 overs on 194- a record score in 2014!

In the field Frome were at their usual best. The first wicket came from some relay fielding between Joe, Aaron and Taylor A on the stumps. Michael W then had Will W caught and bowled before bowling Henry for a duck. Isaac W took a catch to give Mike his third wicket. Taylor A then cleaned up Dan R for 14- by this stage the visitors were 17-5. Charlie R and Rohan W did carry the score onto 57 though before the latter was bowled by Dan W. Arthur H was economical while Ethan C was rather unlucky as airborne shots evaded fielders. The wicket keeping of Miles K saw only 3 byes kept the scoring down- as only 3 byes were conceded. Isaac claimed his second catch of the match when he caught Harry C for 2 off of the bowling of Tom W. The last over saw Charlie fall for an excellent 56 when he was bowled by Aaron W. Jack K edged a single finishing not out before the last ball of the U15 2014 season was wicket. With an attacking field, Aaron bowled Will S for 0 in a fitting end of the season. Beck/Rode/NSP therefore were 9 wickets down for 96 at the end of their 20 overs- to give Frome victory by 80 runs.
