Corsham Win Youth Match at Fromefield

Corsham batted first and Frome took early wickets, removing both openers for 7, one was well caught by O Brook off the bowling of O Davies, with the other being bowled by S Hobbs. However, Corsham compiled a 113 run partnership as R Millard and F Bollen scored 22 and 38. That partnership was broken when Davies got his second wicket- bowling Millard. Two further wickets fell in the final two overs. Brook getting his first and Hobbs ensuring that he picked up a couple wickets. Corsham then cocluded their innings on 167-5 off of their 20 overs, aided somewhat from the 91 extra's.

In reply, Frome made an unfortunate start. Mis-communication meant that O Davies was run out without scoring on the first ball. Then, J Smalley also departed with the score on 0, as he was caught in the second over. Further wickets fell, however Frome improved on their attempts last match as they managed to occupy the crease for longer. Particularly, A Briggs and F Piper, as with the score on 36-9 with just over six over left it was looking like Frome would be all out. However, those two saw the innings to its close, finishing on 59-9. Aided by extras they added 23 for the last wicket in some good play. T Tanner and R Elliott took two wickets each for Corsham.

So ultimately, Corsham won this match by 108 runs in what was a good performance from the visitors on a lovely evening at Fromefield.
