Frome continued their excellent form with another win against Yeovil, to extend their lead in the league to 43 points. The showmen chose to bat first with Lett (63) and the watchful P Sanger (7) creating a 72 partnership, giving Frome the upper-hand during the early stage of the game. Frome’s middle order continued to accumulate runs with S Croker (28), R Croker (43), Veal (36), Dredge (12no) and Unwin (18no). Pushing the showmen’s total to 231 at the interval.
The showmen’s bowling would secure the game for Frome as M Sanger started the innings with a run out, followed by R Croker (1-58) taking a wicket in the same over. Barton (3-36) snatched his first wicket with help of an excellent catch by R Croker, which saw the end of Ford, Yeovil’s highest scoring batsmen of the season. Watts (3-18) and Dredge (1-19) destroyed the rest of Yeovil’s batsmen, which included another brilliant run out this time by Smith. Frome make the long journey to Minehead next Saturday in the hope of continuing their winning momentum.
